Highlights
- A Local Secret You Won’t Find in the Brochures
Goop the Loop is a Bryce Canyon tradition passed down quietly, not marketed loudly. Under a full moon, the hoodoos glow pale silver and the canyon shifts from a busy attraction into something quiet, raw, and unforgettable. - Experience Bryce Without the Crowds
You’ll walk one of the world’s most iconic trails without the daytime chaos. The moon becomes your lantern and the silence becomes the soundtrack. It’s a rare chance to see Bryce Canyon in its most dramatic form. - Guided by Someone Who Grew Up Here
Your guide isn’t just knowledgeable—they’re a local raised in these canyons. Hear the stories behind Goop nights, canyon culture, and the legends that never appear on visitor center plaques. - A Tradition You Can’t Schedule, Only Catch
We only run this experience when the moon is bright enough to do the work. That means very few Goop nights each season. If you’re lucky enough to be here on one, you’re experiencing Bryce the way locals do.

What makes Goop the Loop different from a regular Bryce Canyon hike?
Goop the Loop is only offered during full moon windows when the light is strong enough to illuminate the Navajo Loop naturally. This transforms the canyon into a quiet, silver-lit landscape that very few visitors ever see. It’s a locals-only tradition, guided by someone who grew up here, not a generic tour.Do we use flashlights or headlamps?
We carry red-light safety headlamps, but the goal is to hike by moonlight. Bright white lights ruin night vision and the experience. Headlamps are used only if weather or safety conditions require them. How difficult is the hike?
The route is approximately 3 miles with a moderate descent and ascent. The trail includes uneven steps, switchbacks, and sections of soft footing. We move at a relaxed pace, and most guests who are comfortable walking on trails will do well.I- s this safe to do at night?
Yes. Your guide is a Wilderness First Responder and carries communication, first aid, and emergency lighting. The experience is carefully timed to match moon visibility, weather, and trail conditions.
What if it’s cloudy or the moon isn’t bright enough?
Safety and visibility come first. If moonlight is blocked or trail conditions are unsafe, we may adjust the itinerary, reschedule, or issue a credit/refund according to our policy. We do not run Goop nights if conditions are not right. Can I bring kids?
Ages 8+ are welcome. Children under 16 must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian. You know your child best—this experience involves darkness, quiet moments, and uneven terrain.
